Itinerary
Day 1
Denpasar, Indonesia
Upon arrival at Bali's international airport, you will be greeted by our tour guide and driver, Wayan, who will lead our group through this entire journey. Check in at your leisure to our wonderful beachfront resort.
Day 2
Sanur, Bali
Take a short stroll from our hotel to the lovely white-sanded Sanur beach for morning yoga! Breakfast at your leisure at the hotel.
In the afternoon, we begin our amazing journey to the spectacular Balinese sea temple Pura Luhur Uluwatu. Perched on the edge of a cliff overlooking the sea, this temple sits between the ocean and sky, and is dedicated to Rudra, the one who screams and howls unconsciousness into creation. With the setting sun as a backdrop, enjoy the Kecak fire dance ceremony. This traditional performance combines Balinese song, dance, and theater in retelling part of the Ramayana, one of the epic stories of yogic mythology! End the first day at one of the culinary sweet spots of Bali for an amazing and abundant seafood dinner on the beach.
Day 3 • Free Day
Sanur, Bali
Begin this morning as every other, with your choice of yoga, breakfast, and more. Enjoy a free day to take advantage of the many benefits our resort has to offer. Spend the day on the beach; book your massage (included) at the spa; sit by the pool; reserve complimentary bicycles or kayaks!
Day 4
Travel Day
After the morning activities, check out of the hotel and travel to Ubud, the cultural capital of Bali. The striking landscapes of dense tropical forests are offset by the beauty of surrounding farms and rice paddies while heading up into the mountains towards the center of the island.
Check in to Adiwana Jembawan resort. Enjoy free time.
In the evening, walk to the lovely Pura Taman Saraswati temple. Here in the open air, experience the beautiful and highly cultivated Legong dance performed to the dynamic driving sounds of a Balinese Gamelan orchestra.
Day 5
Ubud, Bali
Yoga is held in the hotel's outdoor pavilion, followed by a traditional Indonesian breakfast with other guests.
Meander to artisan villages known for their exquisite craft making, passed down from one generation to the next—Mas for wood carving, Celuk for silversmithing, and Batubulan for stone carving—exploring masks, textiles, statues, and other great shopping opportunities to bring home something truly special. Included is a visit to a workshop to learn about and participate in the traditional process of batik.
Witness a Barong dance. In Balinese mythology, Barong is a panther-like creature representing virtue, who battles against evil.
Afterwards, enjoy a free evening.
Day 6
Ubud, Bali
Breakfast and yoga are followed by a drive through the beautiful landscapes of the rice terraces to the Pura Tirta Empul. A Hindu Balinese water temple, immerse yourself in the holy spring waters: sprinkle drops on your forehead, dangle your feet in the pools, or dip in fully-clothed for a ritual bath.
Travel next to Pura Gunung Kawi, one of Bali's oldest and most important monuments. This river-valley complex consists of 10 huge Candi (shrines) cut out of rock faces. You'll need to be daring to explore here, as access to the valley and shrines is via a steep 250-step staircase.
The day ends with another free evening.
Day 7
Ubud, Bali
Luxuriate in the spread of morning yoga or take advantage of your private floating breakfast before visiting the beautiful grounds of the former Royal Palace, Tirta Gangga. Stroll along its gorgeous gardens, walking from stone to stone through its many pools to the Patirthan temple. Next, marvel in the impressive views of the Pura Penataran Agung Lempuyang, at the summit of Mount Lempuyang, 1,175 meters above sea level. For those of a willing mind and body, climb 1,700 steps up to the temple!
Day 8
Travel Day
Check out of the hotel after a final breakfast and yoga class in Ubud.
Begin the journey back towards the coast; among various stops is the ultimate stop at Tanah Lot, one of Bali's most important landmarks. Famed for its unique offshore settings and picturesque views, relish the view or explore the area's varied terrains and temple pathways.
Upon return to Sanur, one last night is spent in the retreat's inaugural beach resort. Take advantage of this final evening to return to the beach, relax at the spa, or squeeze in one last adventure.
Day 9
Sanur, Bali
Conclude the retreat as each day has begun, with a final yoga class on the beach and breakfast at the hotel. Our guide Wayan will coordinate transportation to the airport for departure.
Please note that this is a general outline for the retreat's activities, and the itinerary is subject to change.
